Single Mothers (21st November) - Canadian punk rock band who released their second studio album earlier this year. Lead vocalist, Andrew Thomson, has drawn vocal influence from The Streets, Bear vs Shark and The Replacements while his lyrics cover topics ranging from religion, drugs and small-town life. The album "celebrates classic rock with Southern boogie influences, with heavy guitar riffs and an iron-clad, tight rhythm section", with influence coming from the greats like Black Crowes and Led Zeppelin. Their self-titled debut record came out in 2012 which, as The New Yorker describes it, was “One of the year’s best albums…a punishing, noisy, exhilarating thing.” Their newest release, Strange Peace, is no different and, as the band put it, it allows you "to feel something, fiercely and intensely, but together, not alone." Courage My Love (23rd November) - Yet another great Canadian band. Having spent a summer on the Vans Warped Tour, Courage My Love are ready to bring their shows to the UK. Featuring twin sisters Mercedes and Phoenix Arn-Horne, who are trained in guitar, vocals and piano, and bassist Brandon Lockwood, Courage My Love were discovered in a Battle of the Bands contest in 2010 and have only been getting bigger and better since. Blaenavon (21st November) - Sold out - This indie rock band released their debut album this year and are out on their first headline tour. Their debut, That's Your Lot, was produced by Jim Abbiss who has worked with Arctic Monkeys and Bombay Bicycle Club, so you know it's gonna be good.
